Who are we
Ebbw Vale Running Club was set up in February 2007
with two main objectives.
To encourage people of Blaenau Gwent to get fit and enjoy the experience,
To do so, within a safe environment, which is the most crucial factor.
We are a small but expanding friendly club. Consisting of approximately 30 members of both sexes
who regularly train together; some are even starting to participate in local races, which include:
road,
multi-terrain and
trail
Distances range from 5k and hopefully right up to the Marathon.
We focus on runners of both sexes enjoying the Sport within the company of like minded souls.
We will guarantee that you can train at your level of fitness, with no pressure whatsoever and you won’t be left behind. Why not give it a try, all you can do is lose a few pounds (in weight that is).
Where and When we Meet
Group training takes place once a week, meeting at Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre every Tuesday at 5.50pm to start training at 6pm.
All abilities are welcome and training is specifically structured so no one is left to run on their own.
We think safety is paramount, which is why we structure training to include all levels of ability.
In addition to the group meet on Tuesday some club members will also meet at the leisure centre on a Thursday at 6:15 and a Sunday at 9:00
Ebbw Vale leisure centre is well sign posted and easy to navigate to.
From the Heads of the valleys road take the turn off for Ebbw Vale and head straight on to College road. You will come to a roundabout and will need to take the first exit left. Go straight on for a couple of hundred yards where you will see a sign for Ebbw Vale Leisure Centre. Take the exit on the right. The Leisure Centre will be visible to the right. If coming from the south, head up the valley to Ebbw vale town centre. Follow the road past the multi storey car park and take the next right down into the civic centre where the leisure centre will be visible on the left. Parking is freely available on site.
